Clinical Skin Problems

Healthy skin from within

About Our Skin

Our skin is the largest organ in the body and one of the most complicated. It has many roles in the maintenance of life and health, but with more than 3000 recorded skin disorders, it can also have numerous potential problems.

As our body's first line of defence, our skin plays a crucial role in providing an airtight, watertight and flexible barrier between the outside world and the highly regulated systems within the body. It also helps with temperature regulation, immune defence, vitamin production and sensation.

The skin is unique in many ways, but no other organ demands as much attention and causes as much concern in respect of disease and health. With fierce competition to have clearer, healthier and younger looking skin, there is a huge focus on our skin health. And this focus can cause secondary problems with self-esteem and mental health.

The appearance of our skin is a reflection of everything that is going on inside of us.

How to get Great Looking Skin?

Common Skin Problems

Common clinical skin issues range from infectious conditions through to chronic inflammatory disorders such as acne and rosacea. Treatment is very individualized and may include any of the following:

  • Reducing inflammation
  • Improving overall immune tolerance
  • Supporting lymphatic and detoxification pathways
  • Balancing of the gut micro-biome
  • Improve the skin barrier integrity
  • Balance hormones
  • Support healing and repair

Cosmetic nutrition works to rebalance and replenish your body with nutrients that support collagen production and skin integrity and can be used as a standalone internal age management strategy as well as nutritional support for use with acne treatments, microdermabrasion, surgical procedures and tissue repair to support the healing process and help reduce inflammation and scarring.
