Hayfever

By Sam Botica, Naturopath

Hayfever can really affect our ability to function as normal. Millions of Aussies struggle with congested sinuses, sneezing, itchy throat and eyes, runny nose, headache and fatigue, and it makes their lives miserable.

Those with hayfever have an overactive immune response to grasses and pollens. The body reads these as harmful and triggers allergic antibodies to tree and grass pollens, which release histamine with more exposure. The histamine causes the itchiness, sneezing and runny nose. In more severe cases, airways can become inflamed and blocked, causing permanent nasal stuffiness, lack of sleep, sinusitis and fatigue.

There’s a misconception that hayfever occurs only in Spring, but in fact there are tree pollens around in Winter and weed pollens in Autumn. Mould, yeast, dust mites and pet dander can cause allergic symptoms all year round.

For Extra Help and Guidance

Following your consultation, I can prescribe stronger prescription-strength natural medicines that are not available over the counter in pharmacies or health stores. These include Herbal Formulas, Homeopathics and Natural Nasal Sprays.

We can prescribe Probiotics with specific strains to target your gut microbiome and therefore your immune system, to help reduce your allergic response.

Quantum Analysis can be used to detect what airborne sensitivities you may have, along with any underlying infections and food intolerances that may exacerbate the condition. Treatment can then be more specifically targeted.

If you have had enough of suffering from these symptoms then phone our friendly desk staff for an appointment with Sam Botica.
